Twins reinstate UT Willi Castro, INF Royce Lewis

The Minnesota Twins reinstated infielder Royce Lewis and utility player Willi Castro from the 10-day injured list on Monday.

Lewis, 25, has been out all season after sustaining a left hamstring strain in spring training. He batted .174 with one RBI in six rehab games at Triple-A St. Paul.

The No. 1 overall pick in 2017, Lewis is a lifetime .268 hitter with 33 home runs and 104 RBIs in 152 games with the Twins.

Castro, 28, landed on the IL on April 24 with a right oblique strain. He is batting .227 with one homer and five RBIs in 18 games this season.

An All-Star in 2024, Castro is a .247 career hitter with 46 homers and 200 RBIs in 603 games with the Detroit Tigers (2019-22) and Twins.

In corresponding moves, the Twins optioned utility player Mickey Gasper and infielder Edouard Julien to St. Paul.
